Of Asian heritage, Suri graduated from Punjab Engineering College with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He then immigrated to Chicago in his early twenties.

His career began at Amdahl as a systems analyst in 1978 and in 1987 he joined Tandem Computers where his career continued and survived acquisitions as moved Tandem through Compaq and then Hewlett Packard (HP). At Tandem, he was promoted to Director within the Product Management Group.

As with many of us, Suri began to explore a mid-life change from the computer industry to a field which had long held an interest for him. As a life-long learner, he returned to the University of San Francisco for a Master’s in Counseling Psychology.

In 2003 he opened his practice in the Bay Area. With an emphasis on mindfulness, he specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Today, along with his private practice, he counsels and guides those working within the computer industry in Silicon Valley.  Isolation, loneliness and loss of relationships are the overriding themes that permeate life in the Valley in 2019.

He brings to Roanoke Research Group, a personal understanding of change, of loss and most importantly the effects of discrimination coming out of hidden and unconscious biases. As reflective learning underpins social and psychological change, Suri will be available to guide participants through any rough spots of such a process. https://www.linkedin.com/in/suri-harish-2833571/
